Government's Eloquent Reasoning
Wednesday, March 15, 2006
I was flipping through the channels last night when I stumbled on LinkTV. They were showing "Waco: The Rules of Engagement." I had heard about this documentary and had been told that it was one that needed to be watched by every American for him to properly understand his government. A brief synopsis of this documentary: On February 28, 1993, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) raided the Branch Davidian ranch at Mount Carmel, a rural area near Waco, Texas. The raid resulted in the deaths of four agents and five Davidians. The subsequent 51-day siege by the FBI ended on April 19 when the compound was completely consumed by fire killing seventy-six people, including Davidian leader David Koresh.
After being exposed to two hours and thirty minutes of government's brutality, I finally understand the following quote:
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. ~ George Washington
If you get a chance, rent this video and watch it... And hope you never find yourself on the receiving end of government's eloquent reasoning.

You should see the one on Ruby Ridge... that one about made me cry.
I have watched the movie many times and it is crazy that people could be murdered by their own government and then do nothing to stop the government.
Difranco,
What one about Ruby Ridge? I think I may have seen it a few years ago.
