Triggered Retaliation
Friday, June 03, 2005
Am I the only one that has noticed how the White House has been using its "might" to compel people not to report things that are questionable or illegal? Censorship imposed by brute force. We've seen this tactic before...
From the KnightRidder article: "Reports of terrorists meeting in Syria were flawed, U.S. officials say":
Three officials who said that the reports of Zarqawi's travels were apparently bogus spoke on condition of anonymity because intelligence matters are classified and because discussing the mistaken report could embarrass the White House and trigger retaliation against them.
This is just one of many recent examples.
